Kim Delaney, an American actress best known as detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she was awarded an Emmy Award. Her credits are All My Children Philly CSI: Miami & Army Wives. Delaney is the sole child of the United Auto Workers senior executive and domestic worker was raised by four brothers and sisters. While she had a childhood aspiration to become journalist, it wasn't until the time of her high school days that Delaney began to model. Following her move away from New York City and gaining experiences with commercials at New York did she achieve an aspiring career as court reporters. When she was a teenager, her first role as an actor was on the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Delaney has appeared in a variety of television shows, films and dramatics since then. As with her professional career, her personal life hasn't been happy or successful. The gifted actress was struggling to overcome the effects of alcohol and two marriages fall apart. In 2005, she was denied the custody of her only son.
