Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 and professionally referred to under the other name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and was the first female to sign for J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. She released her first EP for the label on Oct. 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she gained notoriety. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released in May 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded her music on the internet in 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013 the mixtape Five Finger Discount. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her own single Bound and her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as on Sweat It Out July 21st in 2015. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to work in conjunction with Rihanna. On the 8th of December that she was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she performed alongside Cozz in the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. She released Pho, her debut album on the 21st of October in 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018 she guest-starred on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video was followed by a music video in September. Then, on the 9th November the singer released two more singles titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). On November 13, she released two additional singles titled One and Pdigree. One as well as Pdigree. Then she appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single on February 26, 2019, for her debut album the same title. A music video debuted 20 February 2019 in order to accompany the track. Within one week, it had over 3,000,000 views. The singer was a part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of 2018.
